On the afternoon of the 13th, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, met with Brazilian President Lula in Beijing. Zhao Leji said that in November last year, President Xi Jinping successfully visited Brazil and, together with President Lula, upgraded the relationship between the two countries to a China-Brazil community with a shared future to build a fairer world and a more sustainable planet, opening a new chapter in China-Brazil relations. China is willing to strengthen strategic cooperation with Brazil, continue to enrich the historical significance and strategic connotation of the China-Brazil community with a shared future. The National People's Congress of China is willing to work with the Brazilian National Congress to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, play the role of exchange mechanism platform, conduct legislative and supervisory experience exchanges, and provide legal guarantees for promoting pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. Lula said that close exchanges between legislative institutions are very important for enhancing friendship between Brazil and China. Brazil is willing to strengthen exchanges of governance experience with China, uphold multilateralism and free trade, oppose protectionism, jointly address climate change, and promote the construction of a shared future community between Brazil and China.
