The Hong Kong SAR Government's Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department announced today the updated quarantine arrangements for importing cats and dogs from mainland China. Starting from June 3, the AFCD will classify mainland China under Group A of Category III, meaning that cats and dogs imported from mainland China only need to comply with relevant quarantine regulations and hold an animal health certificate issued by mainland Chinese official veterinarians. The quarantine period upon arrival in Hong Kong will be reduced from the current 120 days to 30 days. This new arrangement will facilitate pet owners bringing their cats and dogs from mainland China to Hong Kong.
