Dow Jones Securities: The safe-haven role of US Treasuries continues to worry investors.
The interest rate strategist at Daoming Securities said that while market volatility has eased recently, investors are still feeling nervous about the safe-haven status of the US bond market. Against this backdrop, investors are worried about the direction of US finances. "This may lead to further increases in bond term premiums, steeper yield curves, increased concerns about US bond auctions, and possible credit rating downgrades." It is expected that the US bond yield curve will steepen further, meaning that the difference between short-term and long-term bond yields will widen. The US Treasury Department may take steps to lower funding costs, and in the coming years, it will rely more heavily on the supply of US bonds, possibly even reducing the size of long-term bond sales.
