Norwegian oil workers reach wage agreement.
Industry and union officials have announced that wage negotiations between the Norwegian oil company and two unions have reached an agreement on Tuesday. Industry organization Offshore Norway stated that both the Lederne and Styrke unions have reached agreements with the company, and the third union, Safe, will be included in the settlement agreement, thus avoiding the risk of some workers going on strike later this year. The unions stated that the new contract will increase the annual salary of oil and gas workers by at least 35,000 Norwegian kroner.
