India imposes countervailing duty on toughened glass from Vietnam

According to the information from the Chinese Trade Remedy Information Network, on May 10, 2025, the Tax Department of the Indian Ministry of Finance issued Notification No. 03/2025-Customs, accepting the affirmative final ruling proposal on the anti-subsidy investigation into coated or uncoated patterned toughened glass originating from or imported from Vietnam made by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry on February 11, 2025. It was decided to impose a 5-year anti-subsidy tax on the relevant products from Vietnam, with the amount being the difference between the import customs value and the minimum price. The minimum price for Flat Co., Ltd. from Vietnam is $593 per ton, and for other Vietnamese producers it is $664 per ton. The actual anti-subsidy tax imposed on the relevant products from Vietnam in this case is the difference between the determined anti-subsidy tax in this case and the actual anti-dumping tax imposed. This case involves products under Indian customs codes 7003, 7005, 7007, 7016, 7020, and 8541.
