Trump signed a decree reducing the tariff on small packages to China to 54%
The United States amended the executive order signed by President Trump earlier, lowering the tariff rate on small parcels worth less than $800 from China from 120% to 54%. Data released by the US Treasury Department shows that the tariff revenue in the US last month more than doubled compared to the previous year. The White House website released the revised version of President Trump's executive order, adjusting the tariff rate provisions for small parcels worth less than $800 in the executive order related to April 2nd. According to the revised executive order, starting from 12:01 am on May 14th Eastern Time in the US, small parcels used for consumption entering the US or extracted from warehouses will have their tariff rate lowered from 120% to 54%, but will maintain a tariff of $100 per small parcel.
