The index opened high in the morning and then dropped, with the ChiNext and Shenzhen Component Index turning down in midday trading. In terms of sectors, solar stocks were strong in the morning, with companies like Tongwei Co., Ltd., JA Solar Technology, and Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. hitting their daily limit up; the shipping sector was active, with Ningbo Marine Shipping hitting the limit up; bank stocks were volatile and strong, with Shanghai Bank and Chongqing Bank leading the gains; defense stocks collectively pulled back, with Aerospace Communications and China Everbright Aviation leading the declines; non-ferrous stocks were weak, with Yi'an Technology leading the declines; the rare earth permanent magnet concept was weak, with Huawu Co., Ltd. leading the declines.
