On May 13th, with the smooth completion of the Qinling Jiu Tian Shan Tunnel of the Xikang High-speed Railway, all tunnels of the Xikang High-speed Railway have been successfully connected, and the project construction has entered the "fast lane". The Xi'an to Ankang high-speed railway is an important part of the national medium and long-term railway network planning "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" high-speed rail corridor, which includes the Binhai Passage and Beijing-Kunming Passage. It is expected to be completed and open to traffic in 2026, at which time the travel time from Xi'an to Ankang by rail will be reduced from the current approximately 3 hours to less than 1 hour.
