The US State Department has approved approximately $1.45 billion in arms sales to the United Arab Emirates.
On May 12th, local time, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency of the US Department of Defense announced that the US State Department has approved the sale of weapons worth approximately $1.45 billion to the United Arab Emirates. This includes six Chinook helicopters and related equipment worth approximately $1.32 billion, as well as around $130 million worth of F-16 fighter jet components. It is reported that US President Trump will visit the UAE later this week. The UAE has previously pledged to invest $1.4 trillion in the US over the next 10 years.
