Apple plans to use AI to extend the battery life of the iPhone.
Prominent tech journalist Mark Gurman wrote that Apple plans to use artificial intelligence technology to solve a long-standing issue that has been bothering users: iPhone battery life. Leaks suggest that Apple plans to introduce an AI-driven battery management mode with the iOS 19 system set to be released in September. This feature will analyze the user's device usage habits and automatically adjust to save power. To develop this feature, Apple is utilizing battery data collected from user devices to analyze trends and predict when to reduce power consumption for certain applications or functions. Insiders also revealed that a new indicator will be added to the lock screen interface, showing the time needed for the device to be fully charged. Analysts believe that if this news is true, it would mean that Apple continues its strategy of integrating AI into core functions. Previous versions of features focused mainly on text editing and writing optimization tools, as well as generating custom emojis, removing photo elements, and other aspects. Apple plans to complete the first test version of the new operating system by the end of May and release the developer beta version at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 9. The official release of the new software usually takes place in September, in conjunction with the launch of new iPhone and Apple Watch models.
