According to a report by The New York Times, three sources revealed that the Federal Railroad Administration, the U.S. railway management agency, has brought in the tunnel digging company founded by Musk - Boring Company, to assist with a multi-billion dollar railway project in the United States. The project involves constructing a new tunnel in a busy section between Baltimore, Washington, and Virginia. The U.S. railroad company initially estimated the project to cost $6 billion, but now it is estimated that it could exceed $8.5 billion. According to two sources, as part of the discussions, officials from the U.S. Department of Transportation, which oversees the Federal Railroad Administration, met with employees of Boring Company last month and were informed that the company could find more cost-effective and efficient methods of building tunnels.
