National Energy Administration: Will speed up research and introduction of non-fossil energy electricity consumption accounting methods.

According to the National Energy Administration, on May 12, the high-quality development policy promotion meeting of the green certificate market was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The meeting pointed out the need to work together to nurture the green certificate market and accelerate its high-quality development. The National Energy Administration will further improve supporting policies, enforce the obligation of key energy-consuming units to absorb green certificates, accelerate research and implementation of accounting methods for non-fossil energy electricity consumption, organize monitoring of green certificate prices, and promote better alignment of electricity carbon certificates. Local government departments should continuously optimize the business environment to create basic conditions for green certificate trading and reasonable flow. All green certificate and green electricity trading platforms should improve trading rules, optimize trading mechanisms, and innovate trading varieties, methods, and terms based on the actual needs of enterprises and residents. All electricity users, especially key energy-consuming enterprises, should fulfill their responsibilities for green development, actively participate in green electricity consumption through green certificate and green electricity trading, and contribute to the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. All parties should continue to increase promotion and publicity of green certificates, strengthen government exchanges, encourage enterprises and research institutions to actively engage in practical exchanges and cooperation with the international community, and accelerate the internationalization of China's green certificates.
