Futures market betting that the Federal Reserve will not cut interest rates in the short term.
From the perspective of federal funds rate futures, concerns about the economy have greatly diminished since Trump's "liberation day." One month ago, bets in the futures market showed that there was only a one in five chance that the Fed would maintain stability in interest rates in the first half of this year. Traders believed that the chaotic trade policy would weaken the economy, forcing the Fed to respond with loose monetary policies. Now, the futures market estimates that there is a 90% chance that interest rates will not be cut before the end of June.
