SoftBank Group plans to invest $100 billion in artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States, however, due to economic risks brought by Washington's tariffs, the plan has been slowed down, and related financing negotiations have been impacted. Preliminary talks with loan institutions and investors have been initiated, but no deals have been reached yet as financiers are reevaluating data center projects in light of increased economic volatility and lower prices for AI services. SoftBank is assembling a team focused on the "Stargate" project and is in contact with banks and bond investors, but uncertainties arising from discussions on tariffs, concerns about overcapacity, and turmoil at OpenAI are putting pressure on the negotiations.
