India imposes anti-dumping duty on toughened glass from China.
On May 8th, the Indian Department of Revenue, Tax Research Unit issued Notification No. 7/2025-Customs, accepting the affirmative final ruling proposal made by the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry on February 10, 2025, regarding the anti-dumping investigation on tempered glass with or without coating originating from or imported from China and Vietnam. It was decided to impose a five-year anti-dumping duty on the products involved from the above-mentioned countries, with the amount of tax being the difference between the import value and the minimum price, which are respectively: $658-664 per ton for China and $570-664 per ton for Vietnam. The products involved have a light transmittance of at least 90.5%, a thickness of less than or equal to 4.2 mm, and at least one side with a measurement greater than 1500 mm, regardless of whether they are coated tempered glass or not. This case involves products under Indian customs codes 7003, 7005, 7007, 7016, 7020, and 8541. The measures will take effect from the date of publication of this notification in the official gazette.
