The Hong Kong Observatory issued a red fire danger warning on May 11, indicating that the risk of fire is extremely high and citizens should be cautious to prevent fires. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government reminds citizens to bring dry food or pre-cooked food when traveling to the countryside, and to be careful to prevent wildfires. Individuals who illegally start fires in the countryside can be fined HK$25,000 and sentenced to one year in prison.
