The 2025 Cross-Strait Relations Seminar, with the theme of "China's Modernization and the Well-being of Compatriots on Both Sides of the Strait," opened in Shanghai on the 10th. More than 160 people, including relevant personnel and experts and scholars from both sides of the strait, participated in this two-day important academic exchange event. Qiu Kaiming, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, said in his speech at the seminar that China's modernization is the modernization of all Chinese people, including our compatriots in Taiwan. Compatriots on both sides of the strait are participants, promoters, and beneficiaries, and should build a strong sense of the Chinese nation as a community and work together to create a better future for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. In the process of promoting China's modernization, we have the confidence to face various risks and challenges, the conditions to ensure the common well-being of compatriots on both sides of the strait, the ability to defeat the separatist schemes of "Taiwan independence" and external interference, and the confidence to complete the great cause of national reunification and achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We hope that compatriots in Taiwan can see clearly the future and their own interests, grasp the historical trend, uphold the national righteousness, and work hand in hand with mainland compatriots to promote national reunification and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
