The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has established the Institute for Artificial Intelligence to promote the development of new productive forces.

According to the Zhitong Finance APP, on May 9, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology established the von Neumann Research Institute, which aims to promote cross-disciplinary collaboration and facilitate the development of new productive forces through the integration of embodied intelligence, generative artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced supercomputing technologies. Hong Kong Financial Secretary Paul Chan stated in his speech that the current Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government believes that AI has tremendous potential and has the goal of integrating artificial intelligence into various industries through the "AI+" strategy.
