According to a report from the Korean Central News Agency on the 9th, the North Korean eastern long-range artillery and missile units conducted a joint strike training on the 8th, with Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, guiding the training. According to the report, this training involved the use of 600mm multiple rocket launchers and the "Hwasong-11" tactical ballistic missiles, aimed at familiarizing the relevant units with the procedures for using the above weapons systems according to the country's comprehensive nuclear weapons management system. The report quoted a spokesperson for the North Korean Ministry of Defense as saying that this training "fully demonstrates our armed forces' ability to quickly respond to the enemy's military situation changes in sensitive areas and their counteraction posture and capability."
