On May 8th, China and Russia issued a joint statement to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the new era on the occasion of commemorating the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the great Patriotic War of the Soviet Union, and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The two sides believe that the risks of global trade fragmentation, discriminatory measures, and increased violations of trade restrictions are increasing. Some countries have announced the imposition of tariffs on trading partners for various reasons, seriously violating the legitimate rights and interests of all countries, seriously violating the rules of the World Trade Organization, seriously damaging the rule-based multilateral trading system, and seriously impacting the stability of the global economic order. The two sides firmly oppose the imposition of tariffs and the abuse of export controls, as well as illegal unilateral bullying measures and unilateral protectionist measures that seriously disrupt the international economic and trade order, and have a severe negative impact on global industrial and supply chains.
