Japan's Fair Trade Commission warns 15 hotel operators suspected of price monopoly.
The responsible persons of high-end hotels in Tokyo such as the Imperial Hotel and Shin-Okubo Hotel regularly exchange information including average room rates and occupancy rates, which may lead to the formation of price cartels. On May 8th, the Japan Fair Trade Commission warned 15 companies operating these hotels for suspected violations of the Anti-Monopoly Law, and demanded measures to prevent such situations from happening again.
