Russian Direct Investment Fund CEO: Western companies have started returning to the Russian market.
On May 8th local time, the CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Dmitriev, stated in response to a question from reporters about the previous prediction that Western companies would return to the Russian market in the second quarter of 2025 that this prediction still holds true. Dmitriev pointed out that some companies have already started to return to the Russian market. They just have not made a public statement yet, but the process has already been initiated. When discussing the conditions for Western companies to return to Russia, Dmitriev noted that the Russian government will actively promote the return of Western companies and will not set any obstacles, but will prioritize local companies. He also stated that many Western companies are still in Russia, and recently he had meetings with over 150 American companies that are still operating in Russia. Dmitriev also emphasized that if Western companies passively withdraw from Russia, the Russian government will establish corresponding standards to respond.
