SK Telecom stated that it is facing a potential loss of $5 billion due to a large-scale data breach incident.
The CEO of South Korea's SK Telecom company said on Thursday that the company may face losses of up to 7 trillion South Korean won over the next three years due to a major data breach, which has shaken consumer trust. He said, "Since the incident occurred, 250,000 subscribers have already left. This number could soon reach 2.5 million. If 5 million users cancel their contracts every month, we estimate that the losses over the next 3 years will amount to 7 trillion South Korean won, including waived cancellation fees and revenue losses."
