Guangdong Province has initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention.

According to the monitoring and forecast of the meteorological department, from the night of May 8 to May 10, there will be a process of heavy rain to torrential rain in some areas of Guangdong Province. During the rainfall, there will be locally accompanied by strong convective weather such as thunderstorms with grades 8 to 10, large winds and small hail, which may bring about risks of floods in small and medium-sized rivers, flash floods, geological disasters, urban and rural waterlogging, etc. In accordance with the "Emergency Response Plan for Flood Control, Drought Relief, Windproof and Cold Protection in Guangdong Province" and relevant regulations of the Provincial Flood Control Headquarters, the Guangdong Provincial Flood Control Headquarters has initiated a level IV emergency response for flood control at 15:00 on May 8.
