Recently, Researcher Wu Xinyu from the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was awarded the title of "National Advanced Worker". It is reported that this year a total of 12 people from the Chinese Academy of Sciences system and 5 people from Shenzhen have received this honor. In 2012, Wu Xinyu led a team to break through key core technologies and develop a rehabilitation exoskeleton robot for paraplegics, which can help spinal cord injury patients to achieve independent standing and walking, becoming the first research team in China to achieve human-carrying self-balancing walking exoskeleton. Shortly after, the system successfully achieved more complex movements such as self-balancing human carrying on slopes, stairs, etc., reaching an internationally advanced level. In 2025, Wu Xinyu's team once again achieved a technological breakthrough in the field of underwater operation robots, successfully developing a diving-assist exoskeleton system that can provide full-cycle assistance for divers alternately kicking and frog swimming, with potential applications in underwater operations, rescue, and other fields, filling the gap in this field internationally.
