ExxonMobil has signed a long-term sales agreement under which the company will supply approximately 250,000 tons of low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia per year from its production facility in Baytown, Texas to Marubeni Corp. Marubeni Corp will in turn supply these ammonia primarily to the Kobe Power Plant. ExxonMobil stated that the Baytown facility, once operational, is expected to be the largest of its kind in the world. ExxonMobil added that the facility is expected to produce 1 billion cubic feet of hydrogen per day made from natural gas, with over 98% of the associated carbon dioxide being captured and securely stored underground.
