On May 7, according to statistics from the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, as of the end of April 2025, China's foreign exchange reserves amounted to 3.2817 trillion US dollars, an increase of 41 billion US dollars compared to the end of March, with a growth rate of 1.27%. The data shows that as of the end of April, China's gold reserves balance was 243.6 billion US dollars, equivalent to 7.4% of the foreign exchange reserves balance for the same period, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month. "The proportion of gold reserves hits a new historical record, indicating that China's international reserve asset diversification process is still steadily advancing," said Guan Tao, Chief Global Economist at China Construction Bank Securities.
