The Federal Reserve says uncertainty about the outlook for the US economy is increasing.
On May 7th local time, the Federal Reserve Board of Governors concluded its two-day monetary policy meeting, announcing the decision to maintain the federal funds rate target range between 4.25% and 4.50%. This is the second time since the January and March meetings that the Fed has decided to keep the interest rates unchanged. Meeting minutes also indicated that the uncertainty surrounding the future outlook of the US economy has further intensified, with risks of rising unemployment and inflation rates increasing.
