Alphabet drags down the seven tech giants in US stock market, Apple considers adding AI search in browser.

Alphabet weighed on the tech seven giants in the US stock market on Wednesday, as a senior executive at Apple indicated that the iPhone maker is exploring adding artificial intelligence search capabilities to its browser. Apple's Eddy Cue stated that search volume on Apple's browser saw its first decline in April, with Perplexity and Anthropic being potential options. On Wednesday, Alphabet's stock price fell by as much as 5.5%, while Apple's stock price dropped by about 2.2%. Among the other seven giants: Tesla, Nvidia, and Microsoft all saw declines of less than 1%, Amazon rose by 1.7%, and Meta rose by 0.5%. The Bloomberg Seven Giants Equal Weight Index has fallen by 14% this year and increased by 67% in 2024.
