Seagate plans to release a 100TB hard drive by 2030 to meet the demands of data centers.
Seagate's Chief Business Officer, BS Teh, revealed on Wednesday that the company is working hard to develop a 100TB hard drive, as the demand for this 70-year-old technology has surged in data centers amid the artificial intelligence boom. Seagate's goal is to launch this hard drive by 2030, with a capacity three times larger than the company's current top-of-the-line hard drive. Seagate's largest hard drive currently in production is the 36TB Exos M, launched in January of this year.
