The first section of the Suzhou East Tunnel of the Ningbo-Zhoushan High-speed Railway is now connected.

On that day, the China Railway 14th Bureau's "Dream of Tongsuo Garden" shield tunneling machine successfully completed a 5434-meter excavation task, marking the smooth completion of the first shield tunneling section of the Suzhou East Tunnel of the new Nanjing to Ningbo high-speed railway. The Suzhou East Tunnel is one of the key projects of the Tongsuo High-Speed Rail, with a total length of 15.57 kilometers. The Tongsuo High-Speed Rail is an important part of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network along the coastal corridor. Its completion will further improve the railway network structure of the Yangtze River Delta region and promote the high-quality integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
