AirAsia's parent company plans to significantly expand into the Saudi Arabian market, including adding new routes and expanding the logistics ecosystem.
On May 7th, Capital A, the parent company of AirAsia, announced plans to significantly expand into the Saudi market. The company will first open new routes to Riyadh and Dammam, increase the frequency of flights from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah, and consider adding new routes from Bangkok and Jakarta to Riyadh. The statement mentioned that the management team of Capital A has been in talks with the Saudi government to discuss establishing cooperative relationships in aviation interconnection, Red Sea tourism development plans, and logistics and aircraft engineering services.
