On April 28, Gou Ping, Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, met with the British Ambassador to China, Caroline Wilson, in Beijing. Both sides believe that the successful meeting between the leaders of the two countries has provided strong momentum and direction for the development of China-UK relations. Gou Ping stated that the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council attaches great importance to cooperation with the UK. Several central enterprises have achieved fruitful results in the UK market in the areas of energy resources, economic and trade cooperation, industry investment, and information technology services. In recent years, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council has been promoting technological innovation within central enterprises, vigorously developing new productive forces, accelerating the development of strategic industries and future industries, upgrading traditional industries, and creating more opportunities for cooperation between central enterprises and British companies. Caroline Wilson praised the achievements of central enterprises in reform and development, pointing out that China and the UK have broad common interests. She expressed willingness to maintain close communication with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, continuously promote dialogue between government departments and companies from both sides, enhance understanding, and deepen cooperation. After the meeting, Gou Ping and Caroline Wilson attended the Technology Empowerment Exchange Forum for Green Transformation of Chinese and British Enterprises hosted by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and the British Embassy in China. During the forum, representatives from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council introduced the situation of central enterprises accelerating green and low-carbon transformation through technological innovation, while representatives from the British Embassy in China introduced policies related to net-zero and sustainable development. Central enterprise representatives and representatives from a number of well-known British start-up companies focused on deepening exchanges on innovation and results transformation in areas such as AI, software, and precision medicine. Officials from relevant departments of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, as well as representatives from companies such as China Petroleum, State Grid, China Huaneng, China Merchants Group, China Coal Group, and China National Pharmaceutical Group, attended the forum.
