Brazil launches anti-dumping investigation against car glass imports from China.

On April 24, 2025, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat issued Announcement No. 27 of 2025 in the official gazette, in response to the application from the Brazilian Association ABIVIDRO, initiating an anti-avoidance investigation against Chinese automotive glass. The investigation will review whether automotive windshield glass originating from China has been exported to Brazil via Malaysia to circumvent existing anti-dumping measures. The products involved in this case are classified under tariff codes 7007.21.00, 7007.29.00, and 8708.29.99. The analysis period for the avoidance behavior is from July 2023 to June 2024, and the analysis period for changes in trade flows is from July 2019 to June 2024. The announcement will come into effect on the date of publication.
