The Central Meteorological Observatory continues to issue a yellow warning for meteorological drought at 18:00 on May 6th.
According to real-time meteorological drought monitoring and future drought disaster pre-assessment, there is severe drought in provinces such as Shaanxi, Henan, Jiangsu, and Guangxi, with areas in southern Shaanxi, western Henan, northwestern Hubei, and southern Jiangsu experiencing extreme drought. It is expected that in the next 3 days, there will be moderate to heavy rain in the eastern part of the southwest and most of southern China, with local heavy rain in parts of southern Guangxi. In the next 15-30 days, there will be more precipitation than usual in parts of central and southern East China, which will be beneficial for alleviating meteorological drought. However, most other drought-stricken areas will continue to receive little rainfall, and meteorological drought will either persist or worsen.
