In the first quarter, China's scale-above internet companies achieved an internet business revenue of 411.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.4%. The growth rate of research and development (R&D) expenses accelerated, with scale-above internet companies investing a total of 20.45 billion yuan in R&D expenses in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, which was 1.8 percentage points higher than in January and February. Internet business revenue in the eastern region steadily increased, with the eastern region achieving an internet business revenue of 367.6 billion yuan in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%, higher than the national growth rate by 1.5 percentage points, accounting for 89.3% of the national internet business revenue. Internet business revenue in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region grew rapidly, with the region achieving an internet business revenue of 125.1 billion yuan in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%, accounting for 30.4% of the national internet business revenue.
