On the afternoon of May 6th, news broke that a visually impaired blogger accompanied by a guide dog was rejected from staying at a hotel under the Huazhu Group, sparking heated discussions. According to the video content posted by the blogger, despite making an online reservation in advance and communicating with the hotel multiple times over the phone, the Fulli Season Hotel at Shenzhen North Railway Station subway station still refused to check them in, citing "lack of relevant reception mechanism". Eventually, with the assistance of the police and hotel front desk, the blogger was arranged to stay at another nearby hotel. In response, the customer service of Huazhu Group stated that their hotels, ranging from economy to upscale in the whole series, all accept guide dogs in accordance with laws and regulations.
