The National Energy Administration recently released the first quarter energy development situation: the national energy supply is sufficient, consumption continues to grow, supply and demand are generally loose, prices are stable with a slight decrease, and the growth rate of energy production and electricity use shows positive signals. Renewable energy continues to maintain its dominant position in new installed capacity. Pan Huimin, Deputy Director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, introduced that in the first quarter, the national renewable energy added 76.75 million kilowatts of installed capacity, a year-on-year increase of 21%, accounting for approximately 90% of the new installed capacity. The combined installed capacity of wind power and photovoltaic power generation historically surpassed that of thermal power. In the first quarter, the national renewable energy generation reached 816 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 18.7%, accounting for approximately 35.9% of the total electricity generation.
