The reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) press conference that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China will accelerate the construction of more than 400 major water network projects, focusing on requirements such as flood risk prevention and response, water resource regulation and supply, and river and lake ecological protection and governance, to coordinate and optimize the water network layout, and continuously improve the basin flood control and disaster reduction system, the water resource allocation and supply guarantee system, and the river and lake ecosystem protection and governance system. Guan Xifan, deputy director of the Rural Economy Department of the NDRC, stated that during this period, more than 400 major projects in 3 aspects and 9 categoriesflood control and disaster reduction, water supply and irrigation, and water ecological protection and restorationhave been planned, to be advanced in echelon according to the approach of "completing and putting into operation a batch, accelerating the construction of a batch, initiating the commencement of a batch, advancing the preliminary work of a batch, and studying and demonstrating a batch"; investment support will be increased, a reasonable intensity of central investment will be maintained, water conservancy investment and financing channels will be broadened, new-type policy-based financial instruments will be well utilized, social capital, especially private capital, will be attracted to participate, and more water conservancy infrastructure investment trust funds will be promoted for issuance and listing.
