National Development and Reform Commission: AI security challenges require joint efforts from all countries, with collaborative research on security governance standards.
On November 3, the National Development and Reform Commission held a press conference in its "Striving for the 15th Five-Year Plan" series to brief on efforts to cultivate and strengthen new growth drivers. Wang Ruomeng, deputy director of the Department of Innovation and High-Tech Development of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that since the beginning of this year, multiple AI safety incidents have occurred worldwide. Not long ago, a large AI model developed by China was involved in responding to an international emergency safety incident and achieved relatively good results. This shows that AI safety is not a problem that any single company, industry, or country can solve alone, but a global challenge that all countries must face together. We advocate deepening international cooperation on AI governance within a multilateral framework, promoting the development of global governance rules, strengthening coordination of regulatory frameworks, jointly researching safety governance standards, enhancing coordination in vulnerability reporting, risk early warning, and response and handling, and increasing mutual trust in intelligent systems.
