At the 2026 Global Chinese Automotive Elite Joint Annual Meeting and the "China Embracing the World" International Automotive Industry Development Forum, held on October 2930, Zhao Fuquan, Vice Chairman of the Global Automotive Elite Organization, Lifetime Honorary President of FISITA, and Dean of the Institute of Automotive Industry and Technology Strategy at Tsinghua University, stated that long-tail issues such as tariff barriers, geopolitical risks, lack of after-sales systems, and insufficient residual value management continue to stand out. Price wars in Southeast Asian markets have already shown a trend of involution, and the era in which automakers could simply rely on going overseas to avoid domestic competition has ended. He emphasized that the core of globalization is achieving global resource synergy, cross-regional reuse of technology platforms, regional autonomous profitability, and two-way of innovation. Automakers need to build a new globalization operating system with four layers of synergy: strategy, capability, operations, and safeguards. With "new joint ventures" as a key lever, they should formulate differentiated strategies by categorizing markets according to market barriers and local foundations, and complete the transformation from scale expansion to profitable and sustainable globalized operations.
