Tech companies lead the way: 645 A-share listed companies have announced equity incentive plans this year.
Wind data shows that as of the close on October 23, a total of 645 A-share listed companies had publicly disclosed equity incentive plans since the beginning of 2026, far exceeding the total for all of last year. In addition to emerging industries such as semiconductors and biomedicine, the number of equity incentive cases in traditional manufacturing industries has increased noticeably since 2026, with a clear intent to retain core talent. By type of incentive instrument, these are mainly divided into three categories: stock appreciation rights, stock options, and restricted stocks. Among them, restricted stocks account for about 80%, with first-category restricted stocks accounting for about 30% and second-category restricted stocks accounting for about 50%. The number of listed companies issuing second-category restricted stocks has increased significantly.
