Micron Technology (MU.O) will fund Indium Corporation's expansion project in Rome, New York, to restore critical mineral processing capabilities needed for domestic semiconductor manufacturing. The two parties will sign a long-term supply agreement to ensure a stable supply of high-purity mineral raw materials and reduce reliance on highly concentrated global mineral refining capacity. This investment is part of a plan announced by Micron Technology in July to invest up to $3 billion in the U.S. semiconductor supply chain. The collaboration will also support Micron Technology's planned investment of more than $250 billion in U.S. domestic wafer manufacturing and technology by 2035.
