Chongqing: By 2030, the GDP of the Chongqing metropolitan area will reach over 3.6 trillion yuan, and the urban population will exceed 20 million.

The People's Government of Chongqing Municipality and the People's Government of Sichuan Province recently issued the "15th Five-Year Plan Implementation Plan for the Construction of the Chongqing Metropolitan Area." It proposes that by 2030, the GDP of the Chongqing metropolitan area will reach more than 3.6 trillion yuan, and the urban population will reach more than 20 million. The "metropolitan area on rails" will be basically completed, the coverage rate of the population with 1-hour commuting conditions within the metropolitan area will reach 75%, and average commuting time and cost will be significantly reduced. Industrial collaboration efficiency will be markedly improved, scientific and technological and industrial collaborative innovation capacity will continue to strengthen, and the local supporting rate for "Made in Chongqing" automobiles within the metropolitan area will increase to more than 70%. High-quality public services such as education, medical care, and employment will be jointly built and shared, and the ratio of per capita disposable income between urban and rural residents will narrow to about 2.1:1. Reform to appropriately separate economic zones from administrative districts will be advanced in depth, the mechanism for deeply integrated cross-provincial development between Guang'an and Chongqing will be accelerated and improved, and surrounding cities and the central urban area will basically achieve integration.
