A poll has found that most Germans consider the government led by Chancellor Merz to be incompetent, and that no one else in his Christian Democratic Union party could do a better job. The German Press Agency (DPA) reported on the 7th, citing an Ipsos poll, that 48% of respondents fully agreed that the Merz government is a "failure," while 19% partially agreed with this statement. Regionally, in eastern Germany, 80% of respondents fully or partially agreed that the Merz government is a "failure," while the proportion dropped to 64% in the western region. The poll was conducted from September 30 to October 4, with approximately 2,000 people participating online.
