Hong Kong's largest public hospital, Kai Tak Hospital, began phased operation today and will gradually replace Queen Elizabeth Hospital, providing services to over 1.8 million residents in Yau Tsim Mong, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, and Kwun Tong districts. Services including the Integrated Family Medicine Centre at the hospital were the first to commence, initially offering 350 general outpatient quotas per day. It is understood that Kai Tak Hospital comprises five buildings: the "Acute Block," the "Administration Block," the "Teaching and Training Block," the "Specialist Outpatient Block," and the "Oncology Block." Multiple services of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the flagship hospital of the Hospital Authority's Kowloon Central Cluster, will be gradually transferred to Kai Tak Hospital and began operation today.
