Google (GOOG.O) has raised the price of its budget phone, the Pixel 10a, by $100 to $599 just seven months after launch, reflecting how a persistent memory chip shortage is driving up the cost of consumer electronics and even affecting older devices. This week, Samsung also raised prices on most Galaxy S26 models by $100, while Apple's (AAPL.O) iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, launched last month, are priced higher than the previous generation, with Apple also raising prices on some older models. When Google launched the Pixel 11 series in August this year, prices for all models were also generally $100 higher than the previous generation, though the impact of the increase was partially offset by boosting base storage capacity.
