OpenAI launches AI agent "Dot," capable of autonomously executing tasks around the clock and connecting to over 4,000 apps.

On September 29 local time, OpenAI released its new-generation agent product "Dot." The company said Dot is designed to be an always-on personal AI assistant that can understand users' goals, continuously follow up on tasks, and complete some work on their behalf. OpenAI introduced that Dot is powered by GPT-6 Astra, is equipped with an independent cloud computer and browser, can learn user preferences from feedback over long-term use, and connects to more than 4,000 applications through its plugin ecosystem. Users can interact with Dot through channels such as ChatGPT, SMS, Slack, and Teams. OpenAI said Dot has now begun a gradual rollout to eligible ChatGPT Pro and Business Premium users in qualifying markets, while Enterprise users can try the beta after administrators enable it.
