SpaceX (SPCX.O) is expected to send its giant Starship into orbit for the first time on Monday, on a test flight that could last nearly 10 hours, a key milestone that may pave the way for routine satellite launches by the test rocket in the future. The rocket will carry 26 upgraded SpaceX Starlink satellites, which the company plans to deploy into orbit and integrate into its existing space-based internet network. Previously, all of Starship's space launch missions had deliberately avoided entering orbit to maximize safety. If this mission succeeds, it could open the door to more orbital flight missions. During this launch, SpaceX will send the first batch of upgraded V3 Starlink satellites into orbit and add them to a space network that currently has more than 11,000 satellites. In a previous mission, Starship had also deployed V3 Starlink satellites, but those satellites ultimately burned up on re-entry into Earth's atmosphere as planned.
