On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, China Railway Guangzhou Group welcomed the peak of passenger flow during the Mid-Autumn holiday, with an estimated 3.144 million passenger trips, an increase of 926,000 trips compared with the same day last year, a rise of 41.7 percent. On the first day of the Mid-Autumn holiday, short- and medium-distance passenger flow showed a trend of radiating from major cities such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Changsha to surrounding towns; long-distance passenger flow was mainly bound for popular destinations such as Wuhan, Shanghai, and Nanchang, while outbound passenger flow at major railway stations such as Guangzhou South, Guangzhou East, and Shenzhen North was highly concentrated.
